Introduction and Purpose
The Tournament (“Tournament” or “Competition”) is a competitive E-Sports-Tournament in the Game Rainbow 6: Siege (“R6”) that are governed by these Official Rules (“Official Rules”).
Project Chaos (“Project Chaos” or “PJC”) has approved these Official Rules to govern and standardize the operations of this Tournament. The Official Rules contains Rules and Regulations to govern the management and people competing in the Tournament (“Player”) as well as their Teams (“Team”).
Each player fully and unconditionally accepts these Official Rules, to follow them all decisions made by Project Chaos and the administrators regarding the Competition, which include, but are not limited to how the Official Rules are to be interpreted and implemented and how the tournament is administered. These decisions are final, binding in all respects and cannot be appealed.
Any aspects of the Tournament or situations that affect the Tournament but are not covered by the Official Rules may be independently addressed and resolved by Project Chaos and Administrators at any time. These decisions are final and binding in all respects and cannot be appealed. The Official Rules may be adjusted by the Administrators at their discretion.
In the event that a change in the Official Rules impacts a Player's placement in the Competition, it will generally only be applied prospectively, unless the administration decides in its sole discretion that the change must be applied retroactively.
Entry into the Tournament does not allow automatic entry into other tournaments, competitions, contests, sweepstakes, or the like.
Project Chaos, all entities involved in the provision or delivery of the Prizes, and any other entity involved in the implementation, production, or management of the Tournament, in whole or in part are herein called “Administration”, “Administrators” or the “Admins”. The Tournament is published on Challengermode under https://www.challengermode.com/s/PJC.

Start of series roster and substitutions
- Substitution players need to be defined before the tournament starts. Last minute substitute players are only allowed if their opponents and the tournament admins agree to it.
Substitutions
- A substitution is defined as a player joining a team that they were not part of yet. A player must join a team before a game starts to be eligible. The following guidelines apply:
- Players must be added before the match they play.
- Players must list their game-accounts.
- Players cannot play for two different teams, even if one team is already disqualified.
- In Emergency situations as determined by the administrators, an external player, not attending the LAN, may be swapped in.
Series structure and game format
The Tournament consists of two phases: A Round Robin phase in which the participants are in one large group. In this group, participants will be playing a Round Robin. After that, the top 4 teams will be seeded into Playoffs, which is the second phase.
Round Robin
In the round-robin, the teams will be playing against each opponent once, in a BO1.
Playoffs
The playoffs will be a BO3 and the final will be a BO5.
Ranking
Round Robin
- Teams will be ranked based on the following criteria (in this order):
- Points (map wins)
- Round difference
- Direct Encounter (team that won the direct encounter in the round-robin)
- In-Game tiebreaker (round difference)
Playoffs
- Playoffs take place in a Single Elimination format.
- If a team looses the semi-final, they will play the other Team that has lost the other semi-final in a Bronze Match.
Play dates / rescheduling games
All matches have a set match time and cannot be rescheduled to another date and/or time.
No show
If a team does not show up for 15 minutes without notice, the opposing team wins automatically. This win counts as if they would have won with the maximum possible score.
Setting up the game
The first named team (“Team A”) is responsible for creating a private match and inviting the opposing team captain. Both captains are responsible for inviting the remaining members of their team. It is allowed to take a 5-minute break in between games. It is not allowed to swap out players during a game. If a player disconnects during a game, the team can finish the game 4 versus 5. After that, they have 15 minutes time before the match counts as a forfeit if the disconnected player does not return, or they find a valid substitution.
Map Veto
The map veto must be started at the match starting time or prior if teams agree to do it beforehand. Map bans must be done via Challengermode.

Player disconnects and technical issues
- If a player disconnects from the server during a match, the round will continue uninterrupted until the end (round starts with the first second of the preparation phase). After completion of the round, the player who disconnected will be allowed to rejoin the server.
- The match is considered “live” when the first round has started.
- At least 4 players need to remain, and the match need to be played until the match end and a winner is decided.
- If this isn’t possible due to connection issues within 15 minutes, the game will be considered as a forfeit in favour of the team who is able to have all players on the server.
- Every team can rehost the server once in a match. If problems like this appear again, such as a player dropping out when the match has already been re-hosted, there will be no further rehosts and the team needs to play the match with the 4 remaining players to its conclusion (unless they can reconnect to the game, then the game can be continued in 5v5 fashion as before).
- In a re-hosted game, each player must pick the same settings as they did at the start of the original game.
- Teams are responsible for any of their own technical issues. This includes hardware, software, and connection issues. In case of a server crash or other unforeseen circumstances, a tournament administrator may assess a game restart, which will be communicated to both team captains.
- Due to precedence of issues with the connection to the Ubisoft Servers, the captain will be briefed about ways to solve such issues before the start of the Tournament. Should a such connection Problem occur, the captain is required to contact the Admins.
Rehosted games
Rehost rules are specified below, including the conditions in which they will be allowed:
- Any issue before the preparation phase starts. (game, software or hardware related);
- Player can't move (unless it's done on purpose) - rehost in the first 30 seconds of the action phase if no players have taken damage.
- Game mechanic not working as intended (shooting, reloading, moving, gadgets, equipment, etc) - rehost up to the first 30 seconds of the action phase, no damage taken by anyone.
- Disconnect/hardware problem/software problem - rehost in the first 15 seconds of the preparation phase. On ofline events, this timing is for the full duration of the preparation phase.
- Observer (official casts) issue - rehost up to the first 30 seconds of the action phase, no damage taken by anyone.
- Each team can receive up to 1 rehost per map maximum.
- In case the above conditions are met, players should instantly request a rehost by writing in the in game chat “rehost”, followed by the reason. Once confirmed, everyone should instantly leave the game. If a match is interrupted, then it should be continued where it left off, by re-host. If a round is to be replayed due to a rehost, players must choose the same operators, same starting sites, same bomb sites, same equipment, and same gadgets. If a disconnect after match times specified in rehost requests, the round will continue. If the player doesn't reconnect until the end of a round, the lobby will be remade. This redo of the lobby does not count as rehost that is requested by the team.
Ping Limit
The ping limit is 50 above the average ping of the other 9 players. Should any player provably have a constant ping over the set limit, their team will have to finish the current map 4vs5. For this to happen, the player needs to have at least three (3) rounds with a ping of more than 100ms. After a map, the players ‘team is allowed to substitute them. If the team, even after confrontation by the opponents, keeps on playing with the player, the map will be counted as 0-7 defloss for rule breaking team. Important: The opposing team will have to send in valid proof to confirm their protest regarding this rule (e.g., a VOD, where you can see a ping over the ping limit in 3 or more rounds, screenshots of multiple rounds with a player having a higher ping than the ping limit), otherwise their protest is not valid.
Timeouts and technical pause
- Each team is allowed to invoke a timeout (tactical pause) of 45 seconds, one time per map.
- Teams will not be given additional timeouts in overtime.
- If any pause is called, the reason for the pause (timeout or technical issues) must be stated immediately by the pause-requesting team.
- A team can pause a game for a maximum of 10 minutes (accumulated if there are multiple pauses due to technical issues). Once those 10 minutes are over, the opposing team can force a continuation of the game.
Between maps
After each map a player may take a maximum of 5 minutes to join the next game. Lineup changes are only allowed in between maps.
New operators and maps
- New operators and maps will generally be locked for the ongoing season.
- If a player selects an operator that is not allowed for play yet, the game will be re-hosted for one time.
- If this happens again, the opposing team can receive a round loss.
- In case a new map gets picked, that is not allowed yet, the game must be remade.
- Rulings regarding new maps and operators will be communicated by the admin via discord.
Acceptance and Changes of these Official Rules
- Competitors are required to accept these Official Rules before participating in any Event.
- These Official Rules may be updated by the Project Chaos without notice as necessary, including without limitation, to add further clarity, correct errors, comply with changes in applicable law, or address matters that arise after their publication.

- Project Chaos reserves the right to disqualify any Competitor or Team at any time for any reason, including but not limited to, tampering with the operation of the Tournament, or acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and Project Chaos reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies (including attorneys’ fees) from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- By participating in the Competition, Competitors agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Project Chaos, and Administrators.
Additional Team and Competitor Requirements
Streaming of Games
- Competitors that choose to stream their matches (“Streamer”) must utilize a minimum one (1) minute delay.
- Streamers are required to include “Project Chaos R6 Tournament” in their Stream Title.
- Streamers that are streaming their matches on Twitch must include “pjcr6” in their Stream Tags.
- If both teams agree, it is allowed to have spectators. Spectators provided by the tournament admins are always allowed.
- Spectating streamers need extra agreement from both teams and must use a minimum delay of 4 minutes.
Screenshots and monitor system status (MOSS)
- Teams must take a screenshot after each played map to quickly verify the results in case of a protest inquiry. Additionally, each player will have to use Monitor System Status (MOSS) during any game. The software can be downloaded here. Below you can find more information about MOSS, if you have any questions reach out to our admins on the Discord.
- All match related files, such as result screenshots and MOSS-Files, must be kept at least 14 days upon completion of the match. Not being able to provide such files may result in a defloss.
- MOSS-Files are not allowed to miss 33% or more of the rounds of a game, otherwise teams receive a defloss for said game. If 33% or more of the screenshots in the mossfile are black, teams also receive a defloss for said game. Note that missing one players' MOSS-File (or having it not complete enough as just described) is enough to receive a defloss.
Installation of MOSS
- Download MOSS and open the exe as administrator, maybe you must turn off your antivirus program.
- As the program opens, hit “File” followed by “Parameters”, where you choose “Rainbow Six” and press “OK”.
- Following press “Capture” and then “Start”. Now you can start Rainbow Six: Siege.
- After your match, close Rainbow Six: Siege. Then go to MOSS and under the tab “Capture” hit the “Stop” button. The MOSS files are saved in a folder called “MOSS” on your desktop as per default.
- Should MOSS cause any Software or Hardware damage, Project Chaos will not be liable for any damage done. To make sure MOSS functions correctly, we advise you to run it as administrator.
Crash of MOSS
- Should MOSS crash for any reason, the match must be paused immediately and the player with a crashed MOSS must restart MOSS immediately (not affected by the re-hosting rule) and take a screenshot of the MOSS crash.
- The player in question must immediately contact an admin after the game informing them about the MOSS crash. The player also needs to send in the screenshot of the MOSS crash.
- Not being able to provide proof for the failure of MOSS will be counted as if the MOSS files are missing and thus result in a defloss.

All Competitors consent to the recording and use of their voice communication by Project Chaos, including third-parties authorized by Project Chaos, as part of Listen In’s.
